WRGPT is an email based poker tournament with no fees and no prizes. Signups start each year in October. The tourney starts in November and runs into June of the following year.
2025 - 2026 is the 35th year this tournament has been held.
WRGPT predates online poker.
WRGPT is run by unpaid volunteers on a virtual private server. It used to be in a garage in Cupertino, California, USA. Now it is on a virtual server in the cloud.
Since the entire tournament is run via email is is slow as compared to online poker sites. A single hand can take several days. Fast tables can do more than one hand per day but that is unusual.

Digest mode
The railbird list is also available in a digest mode with a message containing all the completed hands since the last digest was sent. The digest will be sent daily unless the message is too large in which case it will be sent more frequently.
To subscribe to the digest mode send email to railbird-digest@wrgpt.org.
If you want another of the mailing lists sent to a different address than you send from you can put that on the subject line with the same command and the other email address.
For example: send to railbird-subscribe@wrgpt.org with subject "subscribe other.mail@mydomain.org" or railbird-digest@wrgpt.org with subject "digest other.mail@mydomain.org". You will have to unsubscribe the same way if needed.
